Jennifer has worked in destination management and culture for over 16 years. Initially achieving a degree in Business Studies and working in IT, she moved into retail and then moved into destination management and human resource management for which she has a masters. She has held senior management roles for many years including head of visitor experience for Visit Birmingham and more recently head of visitor economy and inward investment for Visit Leeds.
Jennifer has a passion for dance and joined Northern Ballet in 2018 as Director of Development to lead a team of talented fundraisers to achieve ambitious targets as the company expanded its digital work and celebrated its 50th anniversary. Northern Ballet is the widest touring ballet company in the UK and its primary aim is to promote the joy of dance to as wide an audience as possible. They deliver outstanding and engaging narrative ballets on the stage and screen, whilst enabling people of all means and abilities to take part in dance activities. Alongside the artistic work, they have a varied learning and outreach programme delivering accessible and engaging activities in the region and across the tour. The world-class dance facilities in their base in Leeds is also home to the Academy of Northern Ballet, the leading centre of excellence for dance in the North of England which provides gifted young dancers with access to the highest quality training.
