Created for Ballet Black, 2015.
Inspired by Yeats’ poem and Grimm’s fairy tales, Bruce has created a new narrative ballet, "Second Coming". In this work, Bruce presents a hybrid fairy tale in an imaginary world, telling a story that is timeless and universal, filled with beauty and darkness, irony and humour, and above all the content of the human heart.
Music: Mark Bruce, Tom Waits, Isobel Campbell, Mark Lanegan, Shostakovich, Debussy, Elgar
Costumes: Dorothee Brodrueck
Running Time: 35 minutes
