Made in Heaven premiered on Friday 18 May at the Tobacco Factory Theatre. It toured the UK from May – July 2012.
Following the critically acclaimed Love and War and Sea of Bones, the Mark Bruce Company presents its new, savagely beautiful dance theatre production Made in Heaven.
Merging ancient themes with the dystopia of contemporary life, Mark Bruce creates a surreal world ruled by a blinded cop and a malicious virgin, where a prairie girl dreams of other lives, and a chain-gang dances on the edge of an inferno.
This dark, sometimes comic piece interrogates the very idea of heaven.

"the dance sequences that animate these dreams are clever and musical, performed by an excellent cast. And it must be said, there's no other British choreographer producing work quite like it." The Guardian Click here to read the full review
"All of this is monstrously good fun...Bruce is a fine and entertaining guide to the underworld of the subconscious" The Observer Click here to read the full review
"If it's hard to pigeonhole Bruce's maverick vision (Tarantino meets the Coens' Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? meets Hawaii Five-O), it's even harder to pin down his choreographic style, which reinvents itself every five minutes, from decorous ballet to voodoo juddering to a cancan for foxy female cops. A final party rumba sets the seal on this unusual hybrid, complete with savage jolts, soft porn and belly laughs." The Independent Click here to read the full review
"The dancers are talented. So is Bruce, utilising a wildly eclectic soundtrack to demonstrate anew a facility for movement invention both visceral and elegant." The Times
